Position Overview:
The Tire Technician will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and replacing tires on various vehicles while ensuring safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role requires mechanical aptitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tire Services:
• Inspect tires for wear, damage, or defects and recommend appropriate actions.
• Remove, repair, rotate, and replace tires on cars, trucks, and other vehicles.
• Perform wheel balancing and alignments as required.
2. Maintenance and Repairs:
• Patch and plug tires to fix leaks or punctures.
• Install valve stems, tire sensors, and other tire-related components.
• Check and adjust tire pressure to manufacturer specifications.
3. Customer Service:
• Interact with customers to understand their tire needs and provide recommendations.
• Explain services performed and answer customer questions professionally.
4. Equipment Operation:
• Operate tire mounting and balancing machines, alignment equipment, and other tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure proper functioning.
5. Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations when handling tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Ensure workspace is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
6. Inventory and Records:
• Assist with maintaining tire inventory and restocking as needed.
• Document services performed and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Tire Technician or in a similar automotive role preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of tire types, repair techniques, and vehicle maintenance basics.
• Ability to operate tire service equipment and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry heavy tires and equipment (up to 75 lbs).
• Comfortable working in various positions, including bending, crouching, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to work in environments that may include noise, heat, cold, and other conditions.
