Job Title: Cashier

Position Overview:

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. The Cashier will be responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. This role requires strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

    1.    Customer Transactions:

    •    Greet customers warmly and assist them with purchases.

    •    Process cash, credit, debit, and other forms of payment accurately.

    •    Issue receipts, refunds, or change as necessary.

    2.    Customer Service:

    •    Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

    •    Provide product information and promote sales, discounts, or loyalty programs.

    •    Maintain a welcoming and friendly demeanor at all times.

    3.    Checkout Area Maintenance:

    •    Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.

    •    Restock bags, receipt paper, or other items as needed.

    4.    Loss Prevention and Accuracy:

    •    Follow all cash handling and transaction procedures to minimize errors.

    •    Monitor transactions for potential fraudulent activity and report concerns to management.

    5.    Collaboration:

    •    Work as part of a team to ensure a smooth and efficient shopping experience for customers.

    •    Assist with other store tasks as needed, such as stocking shelves or tidying displays.

Qualifications:

    •    High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    •    Previous cashier or customer service experience is a plus but not required.

    •    Strong basic math skills and the ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.

    •    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    •    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Physical Requirements:

    •    Ability to stand for extended periods.

    •    Occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.
